The clinical team reviews charts of patients prior to clinic visits. The team consists of physicians, genetic counselors, staff and genetic counseling students. The Department offers genetic evaluation, consultation and counseling services for genetic diseases for all stages of human life.
Current students help celebrate graduation and awards at the VCU School of Medicine recognition ceremony in May with their classmates. Five Ph.D. students, three M.S. students and five M.S. Genetic Counseling students received their degrees during the academic year. Lori Hill and Belal Azab shared the Roscoe D. Hughes Award for outstanding graduates from the Department.
