Postdoctoral training typically focuses on research, and potential educators can then face the challenge of developing both the teaching skills and portfolio necessary to be competitive for faculty positions. The VCU-IRACDA program prepares postdoctoral fellows for faculty positions by training them in both cutting edge research and in pedagogy. VCU IRACDA Trainees perform research with well-funded mentors at VCU and experience hands-on training in teaching at one of our partner minority-serving institutions (Virginia Union University or Virginia State University). The program has been very successful in placing its trainees into faculty positions.
For questions, contact Dr. Joyce Lloyd, the VCU-IRACDA program co-director, at firstname.lastname@example.org. On-line applications for the program are accepted on a rolling basis at http://www.healthdisparities.vcu.edu/
