How to prepare for your visit

To obtain the most from your visit, it is helpful to make sure the patient’s records are available to the genetic counselor or geneticist prior to your visit.  If you are already a patient of the VCU Health System, your records are already available for review.  It is also helpful to complete the mailed genetics medical history questionnaires prior to your visit, and if possible send by fax or scan to email to the on-call genetic counselor.  Please see Patient questions.doc for paperwork we ask to be completed.

Parking

If your clinic visit is at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) on the downtown Campus, there are several parking options.  You may valet park your car for $5 dollars.  Please note, there may be a long line to valet your car so make sure to allow for enough time to arrive to your appointment on time, (at least 30 minutes).  There is also a Visitor’s parking garage available that is a couple of blocks from the ACC clinic.  See link for additional information

If your visit is at the Stony Point or Mayland Clinics, free parking is available directly in front of the clinic building.  There is also a laboratory on the second floor of the Stony Point Clinic.

If you have questions prior to your visit, please call 804-828-9632, press options 1, then 3, and ask to be forwarded to the genetic counselor on call.
